Direct contact can help a found dog get home
In its advice on keeping animals out of the shelter, the City encourages connecting found dogs with their owners and sharing a photo and description locally. This supports maintaining readable identification; it is not evidence that one tag technology always works fastest.
Keep the report current
Provide new sighting locations and tell the services you contacted when the dog is home. Confirm current visiting and reclaim arrangements with Animal Services before travelling. For sightings outside Winnipeg, contact the relevant municipality as well.
