Check the current service provider
The City lists Proanima at 514-379-2525. Check Proanima’s lost-and-found listings and contact it if your dog is absent from the list. Older search results may point to different providers; use the current City instructions for the location where your dog disappeared.
Use a clear neighbourhood notice
Include a recent photo, last-seen intersection and a reachable contact. A short French and English notice can help neighbours share the same information: “Chien perdu / Lost dog. Ne pas poursuivre / Do not chase.”
Found a dog with a municipal tag?
The City directs finders of tagged animals to 311. For an animal without a tag, Proanima can check for a microchip. Before reclaiming a dog, ask about proof of ownership and current fees. Nearby municipalities may have different arrangements.
While you wait for news
