Start with the online report
The City’s lost-pets page links directly to its reporting form. Vancouver Animal Services lists 604-873-7000 as its contact number. Keep the report and your phone details up to date as sightings arrive.
Vancouver is not all of Metro Vancouver
The City recommends enquiring at shelters outside Vancouver as well. Use the last-seen location to decide which neighbouring municipality to contact; do not assume a Vancouver report reaches every regional shelter.
If the shelter has your dog
Read the City’s reclaim instructions before the trip. For an unlicensed dog, these include ownership evidence, photo identification, applicable fees and licensing, and bringing a leash and collar. Confirm the current requirements directly. A microchip provides an additional identification route if a collar comes off.
While you wait for news
